The New Jersey Supreme Court upheld an Appellate Division’s decision that a teacher did not knowingly waive her tenured right to a full-time teaching position by transferring to part time, but stopped short of extending its decision in Bridgewater-Raritan to impose a notification duty on school districts on that right.

Last June, the Appellate Division affirmed the reinstatement of a preschool teacher, Catherine Parsells, who was employed in the Somerville Public School district from September 2010 to June 2016.
