Both the Senate and Assembly have finally passed anti-SLAPP legislation in New Jersey.
A SLAPP suit, also referred to as a Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation, is brought by an individual or entity to stop critics from making public statements against them which can have the effect of chilling public commentary and undermining First Amendment rights.
