Chief Justice Stuart Rabner announced Wednesday that the judiciary can now to lift the suspension of all civil and matrimonial trials in Vicinage 15, which is comprised of Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, while Vicinage 13 remains suspended, and Vicinage 11, which covers Passaic County, now faces a shutdown.

Rabner announced, in a statement, that the vacancies in Vicinage 15 have decreased from nine judges to two, now enabling the judiciary to resume conducting trials “at once.” However, the suspension order remains in place in Vicinage 13, which serves Hunterdon, Somerset and Warren counties, where the vacancy rate remains unchanged. And now, Vicinage 11 faces the same moratorium on all civil and matrimonial trials beginning on July 31.
