A $1.3 million settlement was reached in Middlesex County suit Harris v. Public Service Electric and Gas Co. for a man injured when a ladder he was climbing while emerging from a manhole collapsed, allegedly leaving him with physical injuries, post-traumatic stress and persistent depressive disorders. The case was resolved earlier this year and dismissed on March 13.

On July 17, 2017, Henry Harris, an employee of New River Electrical, was pulling cable on a Public Service Enterprise Group (PSE&G) construction project located at 54th Street and Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne, when his ladder collapsed. PSE&G had a contract with general contractor LS Cable America for work on the Bergen-Linden Corridor Project—a $1.2 billion replacement of existing 138-kV transmission lines with 345-kV lines across a large portion of northern New Jersey.
