The decision by the Election Law Enforcement Commission to dismiss 107 complaints of alleged campaign violations following the enactment of the Elections Transparency Act drew ire from some legislative members, including Sens. Steve Oroho, R-Sussex, and Anthony Bucco, R-Morris/Somerset, who said the new law "neutered" election transparency in the state.

An ELEC press release revealed that, at the July 25 meeting, the newly appointed commissioners voted to dismiss 107 complaints dating between 2011 and 2020. Although the press release offered no information on the reason for the dismissals, the complaints presumably all fell outside the new statute of limitations for ELEC complaints, which were reduced from 10 years to two by the Elections Transparency Act.
