Henry J. Amoroso, an attorney and tenured professor of legal studies at Seton Hall University, has been named state monitor at New Jersey City University following the school’s recent financial crisis.

Amoroso is of counsel at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi in Roseland with the firm’s corporate and securities group and a strategic adviser to several government entities, businesses and nonprofits within and outside of New Jersey, according to a press release on his appointment. He also is a tenured associate professor at Seton Hall’s Stillman School of Business. Amoroso was appointed as state monitor by New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Brian K. Bridges, with the support of Gov. Phil Murphy.
