The New Jersey Supreme Court reversed an Appellate Division ruling that tossed out a claim brought under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination by the parents of a preschool student who was sexually abused on a school bus.

In C.V. v. Waterford Township Board of Education, the parents of a prekindergarten student, C.V., sued the Waterford Township School District after her parents discovered that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by Alfred Dean, a school bus aide. C.V.'s parents sued the school district and the Waterford Township Board of Education and alleged, among other claims, discrimination in a place of public accommodation on account of sex in violation of the LAD, according to the opinion.
