The New Jersey Supreme Court has convened a committee of experts to examine the legal and ethical implications of artificial intelligence in court operations and the practice of law that met for the first time today.

The 31-member panel, called the Supreme Court Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts, has experts both within and outside the judiciary and includes judicial and government leaders, judges, attorneys, educators, and cybersecurity and technology experts. Glenn A. Grant, administrative director of the courts, serves as chair of the committee with retired federal Judge Katherine B. Forrest serving as vice chair.
