The estate of an electrician who died after a 30-foot fall in the workplace received payment of a $5 million settlement in a Bergen County wrongful death suit, Roscitt v. Chefler Foods, on Oct. 15.

Joseph Roscitt, an employee of Modern Electric Co., was working at the Chefler Foods manufacturing plant in Saddle Brook on Dec. 1, 2021, when he suffered a severe head injury. Roscitt, 46, was using a scissor lift to change light bulbs on the production floor when the lift was struck and knocked over by a reversing forklift operated by a Chefler Foods employee, said Bruce Nagel of Nagel Rice in Roseland, who represent the estate along with Greg Kohn of the same firm.
