A litigator who has handled a series of prominent religious land use cases in New Jersey is among a group of federal judicial nominees announced by President Joe Biden on Wednesday.

Attorney Adeel Mangi was nominated for the Third Circuit seat left vacant by the retirement of Judge Joseph Greenaway Jr. earlier this year.

Mangi is a partner at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler, where he has worked since 2000. He received a postgraduate diploma in professional legal skills from the City University London Inns of Court School of Law in 1999 and a master of laws degree from Harvard Law School the following year, the White House said.
