Mazawey Joins K&L Gates

K&L Gates welcomed Jennifer Mazawey as a partner in the real estate practice area in the Newark office, according to an announcement by the firm. Mazawey joins the firm from Genova Burns, where she worked for over 20 years.

Mazawey advises clients on a range of matters related to real estate and construction issues. She regularly represents developers in the various phases of the development process, often appearing before planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment. Mazawey frequently aids clients with the acquisition of local and state incentive opportunities. She also assists clients with permit acquisitions, interfacing with regulatory agencies at the state and federal levels. She also appears before the Public Employment Relations Commission, the Office of Administrative Law, and state and federal courts, the firm said.

In addition to her real estate focus, Mazawey also has experience in education law. She has served as counsel to boards of education and trustees throughout New Jersey, advising on areas such as board governance, labor relations, special education, and school construction, the announcement noted.
