For years the New Jersey Supreme Court has live-streamed its oral arguments, appropriately maintaining a record of its public proceedings. Likewise, oral arguments before our trial courts are recorded and preserved in written transcripts.

The notable exception to this judicial transparency is the New Jersey Appellate Division. In our intermediate appellate court—where much of our common law is written—there is no record of the court’s public proceedings.
