For the first time, geolocation—the identification of the location of an individual or an object using technology—will see its day in court. 

The trial in the data privacy class action lawsuit Mata v. Digital Recognition Network Inc. (DRN), filed in the Superior Court of the State of California, San Diego, Central District, on behalf of a certified class of 23 million California residents, is set to begin on May 17, 2024.
