Following an emergency session of the Senate Judiciary Committee Monday, the New Jersey Senate unanimously voted to confirm Albert J. Rescinio to fill the vacancy on the Monmouth County bench left by the death of Judge Lisa P. Thornton.
Rescinio’s appointment comes almost one year after Thorton, the first Black female assignment judge in New Jersey, died suddenly at 59.
