A $2.7 million settlement has been reached with a construction company for a carpenter who sustained severe life-altering injuries when a cast-in-place concrete formwork panel collapsed while he was working on a project at Rutgers University Health Athletic Center.

Michael Agabiti was working on the Rutgers project on Feb. 12, 2018, when the concrete form fell while he was strapped to the panel, according to the complaint filed in the case. He fell nearly 15 feet and the panel landed on top of him, driving a bolt through his foot which caused permanent orthopedic injuries that required six surgeries.
