After a random audit revealed recordkeeping deficiencies in the books of a New Jersey law firm, including a $380,000 deficit, the attorney responsible for compliance received a reprimand that did not hold him solely responsible for the discrepancies.

The Office of Attorney Ethics selected the firm Dubois, Sheehan, Hamilton, Levin & Weissman in Camden for a random audit on March 15, 2021. The audit revealed several issues, including ledger cards with negative balances, inactive trust account balances, and outstanding trust account checks, among other recordkeeping issues.
