Bus companies and a New Jersey county have agreed to pay $25.75 million to a lawsuit involving a teenager who suffered a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a public transit bus while driving his motorcycle.

Russel Steele Jr. was 18 when he was riding his motorcycle on July 11, 2017, in Pemberton Township when a BurLINK Bus allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled directly into Steele's path at the corner of Pinecone Drive and Junction Road. The BurLINK bus was driven by Donovan P. Foster and operated by Stout's Charter Bus under contract with Burlington County, according to the complaint.
