For the first time in 30 years, the New Jersey legal community has a better idea of the demographic makeup of its practicing attorneys by race and gender, in addition to annually released data on law firm structures.

In addition to the annual report by the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics which reveals the state’s legal makeup by demographic information on law firm locations, practice structures, among other categories, the state’s Administrative Office for the Courts also published aggregate information this month by more than 85,000 attorneys who voluntarily opted to self-identify during the yearly attorney registration process.
