Christine A. Amalfe, chair of the employment and labor law department at Gibbons who will take the helm of the New Jersey State Bar Association next year, told the Law Journal she wants to dispel the myth that the organization is not for Big Law attorneys.

In her 30 years with the NJSBA, Amalfe has served as an executive committee member of the Labor and Employment Law Section, trustee of the Women in the Profession Section, and member of the higher education, judicial administration, legislative, amicus, and pro bono committees, among others. Next May, she will be sworn in as the organization’s president in what will also be her 40th year practicing law.
