Although the state Senate was back at work last week moving judicial nominations to help ease the state's historic level of judicial vacancies, the number of open seats on the New Jersey Superior Court continued to climb over the summer, and state bar leadership is now questioning why judicial nominations are not moving faster.
According to the Administrative Office of the Courts, the number of vacant seats on the Superior Court now stands at 44, up six from the 38 open positions in June.
