Bruce Nagel of Nagel Rice in Roseland filed a lawsuit in federal court Wednesday accusing Netflix of copyright infringement after the media giant debuted a documentary the attorney said was "virtually identical" to one he wrote, copyrighted and produced.
Netflix and a production company called Luminant Media were hit with a copyright infringement suit filed by B. Nagel Films in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. The suit, B. Nagel Films v. Netflix, alleged that the California-based defendants copied Nagel's film "Boy Scout's Honor" by making their documentary using the same subject matter, structure and style.
