Parimal Garg, chief counsel to New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, is returning to private practice, joining Lowenstein Sandler's white-collar defense and business litigation as a partner in November.

Garg is the next in a line of former gubernatorial staff to join Lowenstein Sandler. Garg's predecessor in the chief counsel position, Matthew Platkin, joined Lowenstein Sandler in 2020 when Garg ascended to the position, before Murphy appointed him as New Jersey attorney general in 2022. Before that, Lowenstein Sandler litigation chair Christopher Porrino served as chief counsel to former Gov. Chris Christie.
