NJSBA Salutes Pro Bono Excellence at Annual Awards

The New Jersey State Bar Association celebrated the profession's most inspiring volunteer legal work at its 2024 Pro Bono Awards Reception.

The Oct. 29 event at the New Jersey Law Center paid tribute to six individuals, firms and corporate legal departments that have shown an outstanding commitment to providing legal services to the state's underserved residents. This year's recipients have dedicated thousands of hours toward bridging the access to justice gap in child immigration, criminal expungements, fair housing and other noble causes.

NJSBA President-Elect Christine A. Amalfe said encouraging pro bono participation is a key tenet of the Association's mission and is vital to maintaining minimum levels of basic legal service in society. As a lawyer, there is no greater or more rewarding cause than representing a client pro bono, she said.
