A $2.3 million settlement has been reached for a construction worker seriously injured when he fell while working on stilts.
On July 26, 2018, Everton DaSilva worked at a construction site in Long Branch for Classic Framing, a framing contractor. DaSilva was working on stilts in the same area where another contractor, Ocean Fireproofing, was applying spray fireproofing material. DaSilva alleged that Ocean did not clean up the excess material in the work area and alleged negligence, Occupational Safety and Health Administration violations and loss of consortium, according to the complaint.
