Firms in New Jersey offer the full gamut of services, but new patters are always emerging. In this year's practice mix, we're seeing a broad range of financial services, with a small uptick in the number of firms listing private equity and venture capital services - a sure sign of firms' efforts to capture an expanding market. It's no surprise that litigation far outweighs the number of firms touting merger and acquisition practice, but transactional work remains strong, with 20 firms specifically listing the practice area. Environmental law, real estate and land use continue to have a strong presence on the list, as does firms with alternative dispute resolution practices. Cannabis, however, saw a slight decline year over year, with only 21 firms announcing it as a practice area, compared to 25 last year.
On the management side, leadership by committee continues to be well-represented, with the term co-managing partners appearing 14 times on this year's list, up from just nin last year.
