Reaction appears subdued after a deal between U.S. senators spells the apparent end to Adeel Mangi's yearlong quest to become the first Muslim to join the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Last week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer reached an agreement with Republican senators that called off confirmation votes for Mangi and three other court of appeals nominees while allowing a dozen trial court nominees to proceed to confirmation votes.
