In a ruling sanctioning an attorney over client management issues, the New Jersey Disciplinary Review Board criticized a District Ethics Committee for dropping disciplinary charges against the attorney over his alleged use of an improper law firm name, finding that the committee incorrectly determined it didn't have jurisdiction over those charges.

The criticism came to light in a Jan. 17 New Jersey Supreme Court order, which agreed with the review board that Hackensack attorney Edward Glen Johnson should be reprimanded for three violations of the rules of professional conduct over client management.
