A federal judge in Newark, New Jersey has denied a motion to dismiss a human-trafficking suit against motel operator Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc. by a woman who was allegedly forced into sex work in two of the company's California motels.
Trends in human-trafficking litigation must seem worrying for Wyndham, based in Parsippany-Troy Hills, which calls itself the world's largest hotel franchisor.
