A Middlesex County judge on Oct. 10 approved a $3.2 million settlement for a woman attacked in a shopping center parking lot who suffered further injuries when she underwent surgery for wounds sustained in the assault.

According to the suit, Vega v. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, the assault in New Brunswick on Dec. 3, 2003, left Carmen Vega with facial fractures and kidney damage. Her two assailants were never caught.
