Alcatel-Lucent, a telecommunications company with U.S. headquarters in Murray Hill, announced on Dec. 19 it would sell its remaining 21 percent stake in Thales, a defense contractor with U.S. headquarters in Alexandria, Va., to Paris plane maker Dassault Aviation for $2.3 billion.

EMS Technologies Buys Formation

EMS Technologies, a telecommunications company in Norcross, Ga., agreed on Dec. 12 to pay $55 million for Formation Inc. of Moorestown, a software developer for the defense and aviation industries.
