Case Closed — The Supreme Court on Friday closed the book on an ethics complaint against Justice Roberto Rivera-Soto for disclosing, in violation of the Court’s own sealing order, the name of a police investigator who uttered a racial slur about Jayson Williams.

Rivera-Soto outed the officer, Capt. Bill Hunt, on Feb. 3 during oral argument over whether Williams’ lawyers could obtain information about the meeting where the slur was made and what use they could make of it in his upcoming trial for reckless manslaughter. A Feb. 24 Court order allowing in camera inspection kept the name under seal.
