Sills Cummis & Gross of Newark hosted a March 21 after-school program for students in the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project, which is designed to help 7th to 12th-grade students in Essex County build academic and life skills and prepare for college. The program included presentations on professional development skills and interview etiquette, followed by a “mocktail” reception. Sills Lawyers Run Career Workshop for Girls

Sills Cummis & Gross attorneys Paula Tuffin (shown), Anjana Patel, Gayla Wicks Germain and Robin Countee Pistorius gave a presentation, “Empowering Women,” at a workshop for girls at the Link Community School in Newark on March 26. They discussed obstacles and experiences they encountered in their careers. Tuffin is a partner in the litigation and corporate internal investigations and white-collar crimes practice groups; Patel, a partner in the health and hospital law practice group and co-chairwoman of the Diversity Committee; Germain, an associate in the real estate department, and Pistorius, an associate in the litigation practice group in Newark.
