Chapter IV: Stretch or Mandrake
This is what we called him. The Stretch reference is to Justice Alan B. Handler’s modest height; the Mandrake reference is to a popular comic-strip magician of the 1930s, Mandrake the Magician. We said Justice Handler could always conjure up the right result.
