Plaintiff Melissa Tynes sought treatment at the emergency room of St. Peter’s University Medical Center due to an acute sickle cell crisis, and was thereafter admitted to the hospital. As part of her treatment, Melissa was placed on a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pump that administered morphine.
