Mounting New Jersey litigation over claimed adverse health effects of pain-relieving pumps implanted under the skin has been transferred to federal court.
The defendants — seven pump manufacturers and six drug companies — petitioned for removal of the 46 state court suits on diversity grounds, claiming that no defendant is based in the same state as the plaintiff.
