Two for the Road — First there was Richard Sasso, the municipal judge in Bridgewater and other towns, who resigned after a disciplinary panel accused him of taking the bench under the influence of alcohol and medication. The state Supreme Court found it to be true and in June said he can never be a judge again.

Now his replacement, Stanley Rizzolo, is a drunken-driving suspect. On Aug. 22, police in the shore town of Lavallette charged Rizzolo with driving under the influence, refusing to take a Breathalyzer test, reckless driving, obstructing justice and violating a local noise ordinance, according to several published reports.
