An appeals court is being asked to reverse a verdict of nearly $1 million in the legal malpractice case that prompted state ethics regulators to bring a charge of misconduct against Superior Court Judge Steven Perskie.

Alan Rosefielde, the former general counsel of an Atlantic City real estate company, is appealing the 2007 judgment on grounds that the proceedings were tainted by Perskie’s misconduct, described in a complaint by the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct.
