More than half of New Jersey’s federal judges failed to meet a national goal of deciding motions within six months, but only two — William Walls and Noel Hillman — had more than 10 overdue motions on a list published by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.

And no federal judge in the state came close to the 158 motions more than six months old for a judge in the neighboring Eastern District of Pennsylvania, R. Barclay Surrick. The published data are for motions pending as of March 31.
