A state Supreme Court committee on Wednesday recommended implementation of a mandatory, system-wide electronic filing system, paid for with an increase in filing fees, with the intent “to move New Jersey as close to being a ‘paperless court’ as possible.”
The proposed system would be comprehensive, employ a standard file format, allow ready public access and preferably use the same electronic case filing (ECF) technology as the federal courts but customized for New Jersey needs.
