Thomas Curtin, shown, a partner with Graham Curtin in Morristown and a past State Bar president, is named the 2009 recipient of the Judge John F. Gerry Award. The award was presented by the Camden County Bar Foundation at its 14th annual Gerry Award dinner on Oct. 20 at the Westin Hotel in Mount Laurel. The award recognizes outstanding contributions by a New Jersey lawyer, or a state or federal judge, who exemplifies the spirit and humanitarianism for which Gerry is remembered.

S.E. Morris Chabad Holds Jewish Law Symposium

Three hundred attorneys and judges attended the third annual Jewish Law Symposium sponsored by Chabad of S.E. Morris County on Sept. 30 at the Madison Hotel in Morris Township. Randy Cohen, author of “The Ethicist” column in The New York Times Magazine, moderated a discussion on the topic “Balancing Professional and Personal Ethics in Challenging Economic Times.” The panelists were U.S. District Judge Katharine Hayden, Rutgers Law School-Newark Dean John Farmer Jr. and Rabbi and Professor Michael Broyde of Emory University School of Law.
