Zurofsky Honored for Labor Practice

Newark solo Bennet Zurofsky, shown, was one of four honorees at the American Labor Museum/Botto House 27th annual Sol Stetin Awards gala, held Nov. 19 at The Tides Estate in North Haledon. Zurofsky was honored for his work as a labor and civil rights lawyer, and for his musical contribution as director of the Solidarity Singers of the New Jersey Industrial Union Council. The other honorees were U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J.; N.J. state AFL-CIO president Charles Wowkanech; and Irwin Nack, a professor at William Paterson University and American Federation of Teachers Local 1796 leader.
