A bricklayer injured in a scaffolding collapse agreed on Nov. 22 to a $1.25 million settlement of his suit, Ferreira v. Bergen Engineering.

Carlos Ferreira, now 51, was working on a school construction project in Elizabeth on Nov. 30, 2005, when an outrigger supporting a platform gave way, sending the scaffolding planks, materials and Ferreira falling eight feet onto a lower level of scaffolding.
