A manufacturer of prefabricated sunrooms paid $2.5 million to settle an Essex County suit by an injured worker that accused the company of creating an unsafe workplace.

Luis Cherneski of Newark suffered disabling injuries when he fell from a ladder while working for a subcontractor hired to put together a Classic Conservatories Inc. sunroom at a trade exhibit in Somerset on Oct. 21, 2004.
