The Corporate Counsel Technology Institute at Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Del., gave its annual distinguished lecturer award to retired Magistrate Judge Ronald Hedges, left, who served in the District of New Jersey. Hedges received the honor on Jan. 4 before delivering the keynote address during a course on “Technology and the Law.” The award was presented by Richard Herrmann, right, a visiting professor at the law school and the institute’s co-director.

Hoop-A-Paluza Benefits Children’s Programs

Hoop-A-Paluza Inc. (HAPI), a New Jersey foundation that supports organizations dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of disadvantaged children, hosted its eighth annual basketball fund-raiser and carnival at Millburn High School on Dec. 6. The foundation, chaired by Edward Zimmerman of Lowenstein Sandler in Roseland, sends its donations to charities including Children’s Aid and Family Services, Youth Consultation Services Childcare and Development Center, and Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
