A matrimonial lawyer disbarred in 2006 will get a chance to challenge the basis for the finding that he misappropriated a divorce litigant’s funds.
Thomas Forkin claims he was not served with a 2000 court order that split $14,000 held in a trust account between his client and the client’s ex-wife. Lacking that knowledge, he disbursed $7,000 to himself for legal fees, which set the stage for his ouster from the bar.
