Environmental lawyers should carefully review the January 15 final report of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Transition Subcommittee. In contrast to previous reports of this type, which received only lip service from incoming administrations, it is likely that this time the recommendations will be seriously considered. This was reflected in comments by Michael Drewniak, Christie administration spokesman, to The Record on January 31:

This [the DEP Transition Report] is not some blue-ribbon panel report that’s published, gathers dust on a shelf and then is thrown out when a new administration comes in. This is something that we will look over and take the best ideas from.
