Centralized management (not mass tort) of litigation involving alleged commercial bribery and other torts by Prudential Life Insurance Company of America and others
A previous Notice to the Bar requested comments on an application seeking mass tort designation and centralized management of all litigation currently pending in Essex County involving bribery and other tort actions brought by former employees against Prudential Life Insurance Company of America and others. The application was submitted pursuant to Court Rule 4:38A and the Revised Mass Tort Guidelines as promulgated by Directive No. 07-09. The application requested mass tort designation of the litigation and assignment to one of the designated mass tort counties for centralized management. This notice is to advise that the Supreme Court, after considering the application and the comments received, has determined to assign this litigation to Judge Brian R. Martinotti in Bergen County for centralized management but not to designate it as a mass tort.
