Energy Capital Partners, a private equity firm in Short Hills, agreed Tuesday to pay $450 million for the three U.S. power plants of BG Group PLC, a Berkshire, Mass., oil and gas exploration and production company. The plants are in Dighton and Indian Orchard, Mass., and Killingly, Conn.

Roma Financial Corp., a bank in Robbinsville, agreed on March 18 to pay $14.73 million for Sterling Banks Inc., a bank holding company in Mount Laurel.
