CIVIL RIGHTS – GENDER DISCRIMINATION

46-2-7693 Nieves v. Vanguard Associates, App. Div. (per curiam) (5 pp.) Plaintiff appeals from the “Finding of No Probable Cause” issued by the Director of the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights. Plaintiff filed a verified complaint with the Division, alleging that Vanguard Associates, the landlord of the mobile home park in which she resided, discriminated on the basis of her gender and marital status. Contrary to plaintiff’s claim that Vanguard was selectively enforcing its rules, the investigator reviewed thirty notices to quit, relating to unregistered cars on the premises that had been sent to others at the mobile home park, including male and married residents. The Director issued his finding of no probable cause as a result. Finding no abuse of discretion, the appellate panel affirms.
