Attorney General Paula Dow has appointed interim prosecutors in Hunterdon and Somerset counties while Gov. Chris Christie recruits replacements for long-term occupants of the posts.
In Somerset County, where Wayne Forrest left the job May 1 after 12 years, A. Peter DeMarco has been named acting prosecutor. DeMarco is a 27-year veteran of the office and most recently its first assistant. He has tried more than 130 cases for Somerset County and for Essex County, where he worked before.
